Beach Look by Celebrity Makeup Artist
Share
A couple of months ago, the Eclectic Array team and Danielle Roel, model, had the opportunity to work with the amazing celebrity makeup artist Christina Flach in a photoshoot. Coming from someone who knows nothing about makeup, it was very interesting learning how it all works and looking at the difference makeup can actually do!
Christina had a suitcase filled with all kinds of makeup products, made Danielle sit on a high stool and started to work her magic. I could tell Christina loved her job, she was talking, listening to music and working on Danielle's makeup with a big smile on her face. I could also tell that she knew what she was doing, she made it look so simple... it is not! She used some makeup products I didn't even know existed.
When she finished, Danielle looked stunning and had her beachy look on point. Christina was able to give her a natural look, it didn't even seem like she had makeup on. She managed to make the model's eyes look bigger and her eyebrows and cheekbones more defined. Isn't that what every girl wants?
We had the lucky chance to ask Christina for a few simple, yet helpful makeup tips to achieve the beach look, and this is what she told us:
“We are all about a dewy, "I was lounging at the beach club look", so our go to the office look, is not going to work on your much needed get away!” -Christina Flach
Let’s prep the skin with Vitamin C serum, eye cream and your favorite sunscreen.
CONCEALER -Add a touch of moisturizer to your concealer with your fingers to use under your eye to lighten up the darkness but the added bonus is extra protection from the sun!
EYEBROWS- Use a brow pencil instead of a shadow to fill in your brows, which is my favorite signature touch. It gives a subtle sophisticated look and makes your eyes stand out under those million dollar sunglasses.
EYESHADOW- I like to lighten the entire eyelid with a creamy egg nog color and a sandy color in the crease.
EYELINER- Use an eyeliner pencil, preferably not black, making a thin line above the lash line. Smudge it to give a softer look if it is looking too harsh. If you made the eye liner a bit too heavy, you can add some eyeshadow on top of the eyeliner for an easy correction.
MASCARA- The only time I ever recommend water proof mascara is when you are on vacation or your wedding day!
BLUSH- On the water you don’t want to look like a contoured Kardashian wannabe, so use a peach or tan blush to the apples of your cheeks up to your hairline.
LIPS- A natural or bold color lip pencil on your entire lips and a Pretty Girl Lipgloss (Soul Mates or Darling) will give a long lasting effect with out having to keep going back to your beach bag to reapply!
WATER- This is my top tip for looking and feeling amazing…Drink water all day and night! The sun and alcohol dehydrate your skin which no matter what makeup tricks are up your sleeve won’t fix!
