Celebrate Tradition and Give Back: 8th Annual Day of the Dead Altar Competition
Share
Since its inauguration in 2015, Day of the Dead Altar Competition at Flora Farms has been a cherished celebration of Mexican heritage, blending vibrant cultural traditions with a commitment to supporting local charities. This event brings together businesses, artisans, and the community to create stunning altars while making a positive impact.
This year, we are especially proud to extend our support to Escuela Rural Ricardo Flores Magón, a rural school that serves 60 children just minutes from Flora Farms. This incredible school thrives under the leadership of dedicated women—teachers, visionary leaders, and committed mothers—who are passionately working to create a brighter future for their children. These women embody resilience, grace, and unwavering determination. They are the heartbeat of their community, fostering education and opportunity in the face of challenges.
On Thursday, October 31st, immerse yourself in the beauty of tradition as you explore breathtaking altars, sip hand-crafted cocktails, and enjoy the sounds of authentic Mexican folk music. The evening culminates in an award ceremony, where altars will compete in categories such as Most Traditional, Most Original, and Overall Favorite, with cash prizes awarded to winning charities.
Your presence at this event makes a difference. By celebrating Día de los Muertos with us, you not only honor the past but help create a brighter future for communities like those of Escuela Rural Ricardo Flores Magón.
