Handwoven from natural palm using the Jipi Japa technique, by Francisco Domínguez and his family in Campeche, Mexico.
The weaving is done inside limestone caves. The humidity down there keeps the palm fibre soft enough to bend without breaking, which is why this craft happens underground rather than in a workshop. The fibre is selected, softened and separated into strands fine enough to work, and from there it is all done by hand. No molds, no shortcuts. The shape holds because of tension Francisco controls by feel, which is the part that takes years to learn.

Color your Amigo Lavable using the 4 included water-based markers or any washable markers.
When you're ready to start again, simply wash the fabric with water and mild soap to remove the colors. Let it air dry, and your friend will be ready for a new creative adventure.
