Vintage Huipil
Vintage Huipil
Empowering artisans is enabling communities to share their traditions throughout their art such as this stunning Huipil. The word Huipil comes from the náhuatl word “Huipilli”, which means “my cover up” and it is known to be a common upper body piece as well as a dress, first registered to be used by indigenous women in southern states of Mexico.
The Vintage Huipil is a beautiful traditional upper body piece, handmade out of synthetic fabric and enhanced with cotton yarn embroidery. Holding on to its originality, the Huipil comes in a wide style fits all. It can take up to several weeks to complete, but the results are amazing!
